The Complete Reconditioning Experience

Own the
Grey Area

The most challenging clients are the ones who make you think.

  • The person whose pain keeps returning.
  • The athlete who is technically recovered but still isn’t performing.
  • The client who responds beautifully to an intervention until they don’t.
  • The person who has seen three other practitioners and arrives hoping you might see something everyone else has missed.

These are the people who challenge us to become better at what we do.

Because working in the Grey Area isn’t about knowing more techniques and exercises. It’s about learning to see the whole person, understand the problem they need solved, develop a meaningful hypothesis, and know what to do when the obvious answer doesn’t work.

That’s Reconditioning.

The Complete Reconditioning Experience is a four-month professional mentorship designed to help you develop a repeatable process for navigating complex problems — from pain and injury through to performance.

You will learn skills, techniques and exercises, but that’s not at the heart of the program.

You’ll learn a way of thinking you can take into every client interaction for the rest of your career.

“The concepts covered in The Complete Reconditioning Experience resonated with me and produced results. The course has expanded my knowledge and empowered my rehab toolkit, allowing me to bring another element of care to patients who aren’t responding to a ‘textbook treatment plan.’”

Built Around Four Outcomes

We don’t want you to finish
simply knowing more

We want you to leave seeing more clearly and making better decisions.

Four outcomes: understand the problem, know where to start, know how to redirect, know how to progress

Understand the problem. Know where to start. Know how to redirect. Know how to progress.

That’s the journey.

The Reconditioning Rubric — a nine-question framework for clinical reasoning

A Way to Navigate Complexity

The Reconditioning Rubric

When a complicated client walks through the door, the temptation is to immediately ask:

What should I do?

We think there’s a better place to begin.

The Reconditioning Rubric is a nine-question framework developed over decades of working across therapy, sport and performance. It helps us slow the problem down, organize what we’re seeing and decide what comes next.

It isn’t a protocol. It’s a thinking process.

Not Another Online Course

A Real Mentorship

You can find information anywhere.

What is much harder to find is an environment where you can take what you’re learning, apply it to real people, ask questions, get challenged, make mistakes and work through difficult cases with experienced practitioners and a community of peers.

That’s why the Complete Reconditioning Experience combines curriculum with two live mentorship sessions every teaching week.

Practitioners working together during a live Reconditioning session

Monday · 7–8 PM ET

Learn by Experiencing

A practical session where we explore the week’s concepts together through assessment and application.

Thursday · 7–8 PM ET

Case Study + Q&A

Real cases. Real questions. Real discussion. Bring the client who has you scratching your head — we’ll work through the problem together.

You’ll also have approximately 1.5–2 hours of weekly curriculum, for a total commitment of approximately 3.5–4 hours per week.

All live sessions are recorded. But whenever you can, we want you there — because the conversations, questions and cases are where much of the real learning happens.

Bring What You Already Know

One framework,
many lenses

Reconditioning isn’t asking you to abandon your professional education or become a different kind of practitioner. It’s designed to help you make better use of the expertise you already have.

Physiotherapists, athletic therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, osteopaths, kinesiologists, strength and conditioning coaches, performance coaches and sport coaches all see people through different lenses.

That’s a strength.

The Complete Reconditioning Experience gives those different perspectives a common problem-solving framework.

We don’t want everyone leaving the program practising the same way. We want everyone leaving it thinking more clearly.

The Learning Journey

14 weeks. Five phases.
One connected process.

1Understand the Person

We begin with state, context and need.

You’ll explore the principles of Reconditioning, dynamic systems, pain and threat, the nervous system and the importance of understanding the person before trying to solve their problem.

Who is this person, what state are they in, and what do they need their body to do?

2Explore the Problem

Now we investigate.

Movement assessment, video and gait analysis, range of motion, breathing, planar demands, trunk and pelvis relationships, proprioception, visual and vestibular systems and relevant neurological considerations.

The objective isn’t to collect findings. It’s to gather the information we need to develop a hypothesis.

3Time to Integrate

We intentionally take a two-week integration break midway through the program, giving you time to review what you’ve learned, apply the concepts in your own practice, and return refreshed and ready to dive deeper.

4Intervene and Reassess

Now we have to make a decision. Where do we start?

You’ll explore hypothesis-driven intervention, prioritization, threat reduction, exercise selection, our 5R framework and the use of reassessment to determine whether what you did created the change you expected.

Intervene. Observe. Learn. Adjust.

5Build the Road Back

A successful intervention isn’t the finish line.

We’ll explore exercise progression, capacity, force development, programming, complexity and return-to-performance milestones.

Because ultimately the question isn’t simply whether your client feels or moves better today.

Can they return to what they want to do?

What changes when you
start thinking this way?

Hopefully, quite a lot.

  • 01You begin looking beyond the painful body part.
  • 02You become more comfortable when a case doesn’t fit neatly into a protocol.
  • 03You stop feeling as though every assessment finding needs to be treated.
  • 04You begin developing and testing hypotheses rather than searching endlessly for the perfect exercise.
  • 05You become more willing to change direction when the response tells you something isn’t working.
  • 06You begin seeing the path from pain to performance as a continuum rather than a collection of disconnected stages.

That’s the shift we’re after. Not simply more knowledge.

This Is Where Mentorship Matters

You aren’t simply
watching us teach

For four months, you aren’t simply watching Scott and Jaime teach. You’re in the conversation with us.

Bring us the case that has you scratching your head. Show us the movement you’re struggling to interpret. Ask why something didn’t work. Challenge something we’ve taught. We’ll work through it together.

Sometimes we’ll have an answer. Sometimes we’ll have a hypothesis. And sometimes we’ll tell you we don’t know yet. That’s part of the process too.

After more than six decades of combined work in human performance, one of the most important things we’ve learned is that expertise isn’t having an answer for everything. It’s developing a process that helps you keep looking when you don’t.

“The Complete Reconditioning Experience has challenged me, expanded how I think, and made me a more capable and adaptable practitioner. On top of that, the community Jaime and Scotty have built is incredibly supportive, intelligent, and driven.”

Meet Scott & Jaime

Sixty years,
one question

Between us, we’ve spent more than 60 years working across therapy, Reconditioning and human performance.

We’ve worked with Olympic champions, professional athletes, performing artists, developing athletes and everyday people trying to get back to the things they love.

We’ve worked inside professional and Olympic sport, owned and operated a multidisciplinary performance and Reconditioning facility for more than 15 years, and worked alongside therapists, physicians, coaches and performance professionals from many different disciplines. And we’ve spent decades teaching and mentoring practitioners.

We don’t want you to become us. We want you to become a more capable version of you.

“From our perspective in the high-performance world, you are both legends. We respect you. You have the credentials, you have the credibility, you have all of that. But more importantly, you have a rapport that I just want to encourage you to continue — to be real, to be honest with your people, because that’s what the world needs.”

We finish the way Reconditioning should be learned

“Together”

The Live Reconditioning Experience

May 1–2, 2027 · Montreal, Quebec

The mentorship itself is delivered live online. This is the one time we gather in person.

After four months of learning together online, the cohort comes together for two full days of immersive, hands-on learning.

This isn’t two more days of lectures. We’ll assess, move, experiment, coach, problem solve and put the ideas we’ve explored throughout the mentorship into practice.

It’s also the first opportunity for many members of the cohort to finally spend time in the same room — and we’ve learned that what happens around the learning can be every bit as valuable. Conversations continue over lunch. Ideas get challenged. Professional relationships form. People who were strangers four months earlier leave connected by a shared experience.

Because professional development isn’t only about what you learn. Sometimes it’s also about who you learn alongside.

“Great weekend! It was just the best to connect in person with so many people. I really enjoyed all the course content we did online and on the weekend. Zero moments of boredom — which for a course that long is amazing! Thank you for all the hard work you have done creating the course, refining it and establishing the Reconditioning Community.”

Attendance at the Live Experience is strongly encouraged but not mandatory.

A Few Questions You May Be Asking

Before you commit

Is this only for therapists?

No.

The Complete Reconditioning Experience is designed for professionals working somewhere along the continuum from injury to performance. That includes therapists, chiropractors, osteopaths, massage therapists, kinesiologists, strength and conditioning coaches, performance coaches and sport coaches.

Your professional scope remains your professional scope. Reconditioning gives us a common framework for understanding problems and making better decisions within it.

I’m a coach or manual therapist. What will I take away from this?

You’ll learn to better understand the problem your client needs solved, determine where to start, recognize when you need to redirect and progressively prepare the person for the activities they want to return to.

We’re not trying to turn coaches into therapists or massage therapists into strength coaches. We’re trying to help everyone better understand the continuum they’re working within.

Do I need a background in neuroscience?

No.

We’ll teach relevant neurological concepts in the contexts in which they’re useful. The goal isn’t to turn you into a neuroscientist. It’s to help you understand when sensory information, perception, threat and the nervous system may help explain what you’re seeing.

What if I can’t attend every live session?

All sessions are recorded.

We encourage you to attend live whenever possible because interaction is an important part of the mentorship, but we also understand that you’re a working professional with a life outside the program.

How much time should I expect each week?

Approximately 3.5–4 hours, including the two live sessions and weekly curriculum.

Is the Montreal Live Experience mandatory?

No. Attendance is strongly encouraged, but we recognize that not everyone will be able to travel to Montreal.

There is no additional registration fee for the Live Experience. Participants are responsible for their travel, accommodation, meals and personal expenses.

Maybe you don’t need
another course

Maybe you’re ready for a better process.

None of us knows everything. After decades in this profession, we’re increasingly comfortable saying that.

But you can become better at understanding the person standing in front of you. You can become better at recognizing what matters. You can become more intentional about where you start. You can learn from what happens when you’re wrong.

And you can build a clearer road from where your client is today toward what they want their body to do tomorrow.

That’s what Reconditioning means to us. And that’s what we want to spend four months exploring with you.

Understand the problem ¡ Know where to start ¡ Know how to redirect ¡ Know how to progress
